EUDR No-delay: Cross-commodity company letter

As part of a broad coalition of companies, industry groups, and NGOs, VOCAL has co-signed a joint letter urging the European Commission to uphold the current timeline and integrity of the EU Regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR). The signatories—including many organizations already fully preparing for the 31 December 2025 deadline—stress that delaying the law due to technical issueswould jeopardize forest protection, weaken climate action, and undermine trust in the EU’s regulatory commitments.

 

Instead of reopening or postponing the regulation, we call for a pragmatic and focused approach: recognizing technical system failures as force majeure, issuing a clear and time-bound grace period, and establishing a technical committee to support implementation. These steps would preserve ambition while offering companies the clarity they need.

 

VOCAL stands with partners across sectors in urging the Commission to provide timely guidance so responsible companies—already investing heavily in due diligence and traceability—can move forward with confidence and continue advancing deforestation-free supply chains.
