Coffee Scorecard debut in 2025: VOCAL hosts information session for industry preparation

VOCAL Network hosted an information session about the Coffee Scorecard, a transparency-building initiative undertaken by one of the members of the VOCAL Network, Coffee Watch, in collaboration with a group of coffee and sustainability professionals.  The information session in June 2025 provided industry an opportunity to learn about the purpose of the Coffee Scorecard, who is involved, how the grading process works, and how the Coffee Scorecard will be used vis a vis the Coffee Barometer.

 

During the session, the audience heard from

  • Etelle Higonnet of Coffee Watch to introduce the Coffee Scorecard
  • Ruben Bergsma of Long Run Sustainability, who is deeply involved in the Cocoa Scorecard and now the Coffee Scorecard
  • Sjoerd Panhuysen, ETHOS Agriculture who is well known in the coffee sector and is a master grader for the Coffee Scorecard

 

The world’s largest industry actors in coffee should expect to receive a questionnaire from Coffee Watch during Summer 2025. Grading will occur in the Fall with publication planned for December 2025.
