EASTERN REGION NEWS

RIVA -Recovery Innovations of Virginia, Inc. (RIVA) is seeking individuals
who have a desire to give to their community by serving on its Board
of Directors. RIVA is a non-profit peer-run organization that
provides recovery-based peer-provided mental health services,
education and consultation.
   Mission Statement:
To create opportunities and environments that empower people to
recover, succeed in accomplishing their goals, and reconnect to
themselves, others and meaning and purpose in life.
   Although newly developed, RIVA is affiliated with an established
national leader in recovery-based mental health services, Recovery
Innovations, Inc. The Board of Directors shall have the general
powers to manage and direct all business, finances, property, policy
and affairs of RIVA and will delegate the day to day operations to the
President/CEO. The Board holds at least four regular meetings each
year. Members hold office until resignation. A copy of the bylaws is

   Recovery Innovations of Virginia firmly believes that people who
experience mental health challenges can live fulfilling, meaningful
lives and contribute to the betterment of society. If you would like

VOCAL REACH

REACH (Recovery Education and Creative Healing) teaches consumers throughout Virginia how to take charge of their own recovery. The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) of Mary Ellen Copeland is used.
